AMD – What, Why, and How

January 3rd — by Mike Wilcox

AMD is a structure for writing JavaScript that provides many features including:

  1. A familiar, Class-like structured packaging system
  2. Dependency management
  3. Scope isolation
  4. Faster loading during development
  5. Naturally prepped for a production build
  6. Better debugging
  7. The ability to easily share code with others

We’ll have a short presentation explaining all these points, and then a code along demo to show how it works.
